Description Wittman Tailwind W8. 1963. Recently emerged from a 12 year complete rebuild. Everything rebuilt or renewed. This diminutive little aeroplane is a delight to fly and will almost achieve Vne (156kts) in level flight. Continental O-200 engine. It has a comprehensive modern instrument fit. Payload 560lb Fuel capacity 95ltrs Fuel flow @135kts 24ltrs/hour and @ 100kts 15ltrs/hour Average rate of climb to 5000’ @ 100kts 800ft/min Clean stall 52kts Full flap stall 41kts Cockpit modified for taller occupants (I am 6’1” and 200lb and comfortable in it). It is operated from a 500metre grass strip but for heavy weight take offs with nil wind that is too short (with it’s current coarse pitch Evra prop). Landing performance is excellent.
