The Falco, commonly known as the Ferrari of the skies, is an Italian aircraft designed by Stelio Frati in 1955. Its timeless design features a sleek, laminar flow thin wing that minimises drag and maximises speed. Constructed from plans with laminated spruce (sequoia) and birch ply finish, the Falco boasts incredible strength and resilience, allowing it to handle a +6g -3g capability with maximum takeoff weight (MTOW) 854Kg.With its impressive roll rate of 120 per second, the Falco requires gentle and precise control inputs for smooth flying. Although it is not a training aircraft, it excels in serious 2 seat touring and can confidently land on runways as short as 500 metres, with a takeoff distance of only 200 metres yet cruise comfortably at 150+ knots.G-OCAD, offers ample baggage space behind the seats with a maximum weight capacity of 40 kilograms.
